Find out God's unique design for you!  God has prepared a place of service for you at Woodlands Evangelical Free Church! No one else can make exactly the same contribution that you can to the life of our congregation. In this LTP course you will discover three truths about yourself:

On one level, we can simply read Scripture and understand its meaning as the "common sense" meaning.  Yet you also know that there are deeper things to uncover.  In this course on reading and interpreting the Bible you will be introduced to the principles of responsible exegesis and how to apply this when personally reading the bible, when hearing others preach on it, and for bible studies. 

• Competence. It aims to equip the participant with practical skills of Observation-Interpretation-Application, a basic understanding of genres of the Bible, tips on how to prepare a Bible study and skills in asking the right questions.
• Character. Through our practical studies, we will discuss the aims of Bible Study and what that means for the character of a Bible Study leader himself.
• Confidence. All participants must lead at least 2 sessions during class where they have a chance to put their skills into practice and gain confidence to actually lead a Bible Study. The other participants will provide feedback to the leader for the day so that all can practice and learn what works in a real situation.

This course is for Christians who want to revitalize and improve their prayer life.  It will focus on how to develop intimacy with God through prayer, how to pray regularly and specifically, how to pray in times of distress and discouragement, how to pray during spiritual darkness, how to pray for others and how to pray for missions.  With both teaching and practical components, this course will engage participants in active prayer throughout its duration.

Do you remember when someone spoke from God's Word and it gripped your heart? While this is the work of the Holy Spirit, it is also the work of the speaker who prepares diligently. Like a trained athlete, a speaker who teaches from God's Word makes it look simple because of the effort put in.  This LTP class will set  you on the course for learning how to do this.

If you have a heart for children but do not know how you can serve God with this passion,  if you are already serving in PowerKids but still feel inadequate, or if you want to pass the passion and skills of working with children to others but do not know how, then this workshop is for you! You can attend PowerTools for PowerKids even if you are not currently serving in the PowerKids ministry.

Nothing gives a parent more pleasure than seeing their young children grow and mature in the family.  This course will give you the skills and ideas to be the parent you want to be.  The six to twelve years are vital.  They are your window of opportunity to stay connected, teach skills and build memories.  It is now that children learn about right and wrong and, most importantly, it is during these years that they are still interested in what you, as a parent, think!
